Since being placed in care, Sean has been unable to utter a single word, and he is now forced to reside with his grandfather, a retired author whom he has never met before. Suddenly, he finds himself living in a world of affluence, completely different from the estate he grew up in, where gangs rule the streets and violence is a constant presence. In this new environment, Sean spends his days engaging in artistic pursuits such as drawing, sculpting, and reading his grandfather's stories. However, his grandfather harbors his own secrets from his past. As he retreats to the shed, half-buried in his cherished garden, Sean discovers one of his stories about the Baku, a creature that feeds on the fears of children. Sean is plagued by nightmares, and darkness begins to spread throughout the house. He knows that he must confront the truth if he ever hopes to break free from the Baku's grip and rescue his grandfather from its terrifying presence.
