Drawing on empirical evidence, case studies, and policy discourses from across the world, the book explores key drivers and challenges confronting urban economies in the Global South, including infrastructure development, climate change-induced livelihood vulnerabilities, technological shifts, and circular economy transitions. Accessibly written, this book will serve as an essential resource for policymakers, urban planners, researchers, and readers interested in the complex dynamics of economic growth, social inclusion, and environmental sustainability. It will be essential reading for students of urban planning and governance, public administration, geography, and economics.
