Appearances can be deceptive in this quirky, funny picture book from award-winning author-illustrator, Tim Warnes. Children will love this funny story about surprises, labels, and a very unlikely friendship. Packed with adjectives, it's fantastic for expanding your child's vocabulary too. Mole loves labelling things. But, one day, he comes across a strange, new thing that he doesn't know how to label. It's lumpy, it's bumpy, and it has snippy-snappy teeth. Could it be . . . dangerous? Look out, Mole!

Mole is a curious little creature who loves to label everything he sees. One day, he comes across a strange, new thing that he doesn't know how to label. It's lumpy, it's bumpy, and it has snippy-snappy teeth. Mole is scared, but he decides to investigate.

As he gets closer, he realizes that the thing is actually a friendly monster. The monster's name is Bob, and he's just as curious as Mole. Bob explains that he's been living in a cave for years and has never seen anything like Mole before.

Mole and Bob become fast friends, and they spend their days exploring the cave and discovering new things. Bob teaches Mole about the different types of rocks and minerals, and Mole teaches Bob about the different types of labels.

One day, while they're exploring, they come across a group of humans who are digging in the cave. The humans are scared of Bob, and they try to capture him. Mole and Bob work together to escape, and they eventually find a way out of the cave.

When they get back to the surface, Mole and Bob are greeted by a group of children. The children are amazed by Bob's appearance, and they ask him lots of questions. Bob is happy to answer their questions, and he shows them some of the things he's learned in the cave.

Mole and Bob become famous in the village, and they are invited to speak at a conference about the importance of labels. At the conference, they meet a scientist who is studying the effects of pollution on the environment. The scientist is impressed by Bob's appearance, and he asks him to help him with his research.

Bob agrees to help the scientist, and he spends months studying the effects of pollution on the environment. He discovers that pollution is causing many of the rocks and minerals in the cave to disappear, and he works with the scientist to develop a plan to stop it.

The plan is successful, and the cave is restored to its former glory. Mole and Bob are hailed as heroes, and they are invited to visit other caves around the world to help with their research.

In the end, Mole learns that appearances can be deceptive, and that it's important to look beyond what you see to see the true beauty of the world. He also learns that friendship can be found in the most unlikely places, and that even the most dangerous things can be friendly if you approach them with an open mind.
