In the distant future and the not-so-distant past, the Doctor, Nyssa, and Tegan come to a startling realization: humans can be monstrous creatures as well. This revelation leads to two thrilling new adventures, each filled with suspense and intrigue.
First, in the story "Friendly Fire," written by John Dorney, the Doctor, Nyssa, and Tegan find themselves stranded on a space-hub filled with countless attractions. While Tegan and Nyssa revel in the excitement, the Doctor's attention is drawn to an alien friend who lives on a nearby mining planet. He persuades his companions to join him on this adventure, promising a unique experience. However, upon their arrival, they discover that their friend is missing, and the locals are less than friendly. With limited options for departure and a hostile populace, the Doctor, Nyssa, and Tegan find themselves in a precarious situation. They soon realize that sometimes, the most unexpected monsters can be found in the most unexpected places.
Next, in the story "The Edge of the War," written by Jonathan Barnes, the Doctor, Nyssa, and Tegan find themselves in the picturesque village of Villy in France during the summer of 1936. The village is in a state of contentment, with only a slight sense of unease lingering in the air. A kilometre away, construction is underway on a massive underground fortification, part of the Maginot Line project, which aims to defend against future invasions. A young artist named Nyssa has arrived in the village to paint the landscape. She rents a room in the local inn, which is being managed by a young Australian woman named Tegan in the owner's absence. However, Nyssa is not the only newcomer to the village. A detective named the Doctor has just arrived from Paris, with a mystery to solve.
As the Doctor investigates the case, he uncovers a web of secrets and lies that threaten to tear the village apart. He encounters a cast of characters, including Peter Davison (The Doctor), Janet Fielding (Tegan), Sarah Sutton (Nyssa), Alice Krige (Reno), Poppy Miller (Madame LaChappelle), Matt Addis (Jean-Baptiste), Philippe Bosher (Armand Barbier), and Alistair Petrie (The Count). Additional cast members will be announced in the coming weeks.
These two new adventures are sure to captivate fans of Doctor Who, as the Doctor, Nyssa, and Tegan explore the depths of humanity and confront the darkest aspects of their own nature. With thrilling plotlines, memorable characters, and stunning visuals, these stories are a must-watch for any fan of the iconic BBC series. Stay tuned for more updates and exciting announcements as the Doctor, Nyssa, and Tegan continue their adventures in the far future and the recent past.
