People cross our paths for a reason, a statement that may sound cliché but I firmly believe in its truth. I am not a skilled writer, but I strive to be honest in my words. I believe that the reason I met you was to help me embrace and accept myself as I am. Have you ever observed an elderly couple sitting on a park bench, engaged in a lively conversation? In his latest play, "Ben Weatherill," the audience has the privilege of overhearing Frank and Percy as they discuss a wide range of topics, from the weather to their beloved dogs, and even each other. The question remains: Will these two men, one a widowed schoolteacher and the other an elder statesman, dare to risk changing their lives or choose to let sleeping dogs lie? "Frank and Percy" is a poignant and witty exploration of the unexpected bond that forms between these two men. Roger Allam, a three-time Olivier Award winner, and Ian McKellen, one of the greatest stage and screen actors of our time, reunite for this captivating two-hander. This edition of the play was published in conjunction with its world premiere at Theatre Royal Windsor in June 2023.
