Gaëlle Choisne (*1985, lives and works in Paris and Berlin) delves into the intricate tapestry of the world, grappling with its myriad political and cultural crises, including the relentless exploitation of nature and its resources, as well as the enduring legacies of colonialism and the scars it has left behind. Her artistic endeavors are frequently conceived as collaborative projects that span years, constantly evolving and redefining themselves in diverse locations and with varying participants.

At the heart of Choisne's long-term project, Temple of Love – To Hide, lies the profound notion of self-healing through the sharing of our experiences with others, the deep connection with our ancestors, the reverence for our historical heritage, and the cultivation of an inner physical balance. In numerous interviews, she has sought the perspectives of female and transfeminine individuals, exploring their unique experiences as racialized women in contemporary society. Among these individuals are those who have discovered powerful methods of healing, such as fostering communities, providing care within families, immersing themselves in music, or embracing "alternative" medicinal practices.

Choisne's installation, a captivating blend of video projections and tangible objects, emerges as a sanctuary that underscores the importance of self-care and compassion for others. Visitors are warmly invited to immerse themselves in an invigorating healing process or savor soothing concoctions, fostering a sense of well-being and nurturing connections. Through her art, Gaëlle Choisne invites us to explore the complexities of the world, confront the challenges we face, and cultivate a deeper sense of empathy and understanding for one another.
