Elena, grappling with the aftermath of a traumatic incident that has left her with memory loss and a fragmented sense of self, abandons her graduate studies and a long-term relationship to accept a peculiar proposition from an estranged family friend in Paris. She is tasked with embarking on a mission to locate a young woman named Ella, who vanished six years ago in Thailand, by rewriting her journals. As Elena delves deeper into Ella's story, she gradually loses touch with her own identity and teeters on the edge of self-destruction.
