However, their paths diverge when Lori discovers a loophole in the system that allows her to profit from exploiting cheap labor. Meanwhile, Bex struggles to make ends meet, unable to afford the luxury of healthy food. Chris Bush's play "Hungry" explores food, love, class, and grief in a world where there is little to savor. The play premiered in July 2021 at Paines Plough's the Roundabout, directed by Katie Posner, as a co-production between Paines Plough and Belgrade Theatre as part of Coventry City of Culture 2021. The play has received critical acclaim, with The Stage describing Bush as one of the UK's most exciting young playwrights and The Times praising his wit and empathy.
