Econophysics delves into the fascinating connections between physics and economics, a subject that is garnering increasing attention. While there is a dearth of comprehensive literature that explores this topic from a broad perspective, this book aims to introduce advanced undergraduates and graduate students in physics and engineering to the subject through this lens. Accompanied by rigorous mathematics, it ensures that this resource will also serve as a valuable guide for established researchers in the field, as well as researchers from other disciplines such as mathematics and statistics, who are interested in the subject.
Key Features:
Presents a multidisciplinary approach that appeals to students and researchers from physics, engineering, mathematics, statistics, and other physical sciences.
Offers Python code with additional learning opportunities, accessible for readers to download from the CRC Press website.
Designed to be accessible to both students and researchers.
Carlo R. da Cunha is an associate professor of physics and engineering physics at the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil) since 2011. He received his M.Sc. Degree from West Virginia University in 2001 and his Ph.D. degree from Arizona State University in 2005. Dr. da Cunha has held postdoctoral research positions at McGill University in Canada (2006) and the University Federal de Santa Catarina (2007-2011). He has been a guest professor at the Technische Universität Wien (Austria), Chiba University (Japan), and Arizona State University (US). His research revolves around the physics of complex systems, drawing parallels between physical and economic systems across various scales, from quantum to social levels.
