Love in Fragments is a novel that delves into the psycho-sexual journey of Ralph Edwards, a successful barrister who has recently applied to become a Queens Counsel and is happily married to Virginia, an attractive and popular GP. However, when he meets a younger woman named Tina, he is surprised to find himself immediately physically attracted to her and subsequently falls in love with her. Despite his initial hesitation, Ralph decides to leave his wife, who perceives it as a simple mid-life crisis.

The narrative follows the breakdown of Ralph's marriage, his new relationship with Tina, their respective divorces, and the consequences that ensue. The story unfolds in parallel with an account of their formative and later sexual experiences, which suggest that they are not honest with each other and have difficulty being honest even with themselves.

The novel explores various issues related to fidelity, possession, and jealousy. Pat Llewellyn, the creator and producer of popular television shows such as "Two Fat Ladies" and "Hells Kitchen," described the novel as "dark, chilling, and occasionally repulsive." Malcolm McCulloch, an Emeritus Professor of Forensic Psychiatry and an expert witness in the Yorkshire Ripper trial, commented on the depth of psychological description within the book, stating that it offers a master class to the reader.

Ralph's journey through life takes a tragic turn, impacting all those around him. Those with a sensitive disposition should exercise caution when reflecting on the events portrayed in this novel. Sian Reeves, a television actress, expressed her love for the book, stating that she enjoyed every moment of it.
