The Tzalekuhl Empire is determined to conquer the surrounding territories and make all other tribes kneel before their god, Kuhl, or be sacrificed in his honor. They believe it is the only way to ensure their safety during the upcoming solar eclipse. Kyma witnesses the death of her father, chief of the Huaxkin, at the hands of the supernaturally strong Phegor. She escapes and leads the surviving members of her tribe deep into the forest, where she reunites with her estranged mother, Mzira, chief of the Kankin. Their only chance of standing up against the Tzalekuhl is to unite their forces.

In the vast expanse of Mezo, the Tzalekuhl Empire embarks on a relentless quest to conquer neighboring territories, driven by an unyielding desire to subjugate all other tribes and elevate their god, Kuhl, to supreme worship. They firmly believe that this is the sole means of ensuring their survival during the impending solar eclipse, a phenomenon that has left a devastating trail in their past. The memory of "The Rupture," a volcanic eruption that wiped out their previous home, haunts them relentlessly.

During the initial invasion led by the Tzalekuhl, Kyma, a young Huaxkin, bore witness to the tragic demise of her father at the hands of the seemingly invincible Phegor. Miraculously, her life was spared by a compassionate soldier named Roden. Escaping the clutches of the Tzalekuhl, Kyma led the remaining members of her tribe into the depths of the forest, where she reunited with her estranged mother, Mzira, the chief of the Kankin. Together, they recognized the only chance they had against the oppressive Tzalekuhl: unity.

However, the Tzalekuhl possessed a mystical power known as Nenezi, which granted them unparalleled knowledge of their enemies' whereabouts. Nenezi, once a member of the ancient Zentalli order, now serves as a loyal servant to Emperor Vuh. Determined to eradicate the tribes once and for all, they dispatch their troops into the treacherous jungle, relentlessly marching toward Cobán Rock.

Meanwhile, Itzabe, the sole surviving member of the Zentalli, embarks on a perilous journey to the World Tree, seeking guidance from the Great Mother. He learns that his failure to join his fellow Zentalli during the previous solar eclipse may have contributed to the catastrophic event known as "The Rupture." Each member of the Zentalli carries a portion of the Celestial Seed, a powerful entity that holds immense power. Itzabe understands that reuniting the Seed before the next eclipse is crucial to prevent even greater devastation.

With unwavering determination, Itzabe sets off toward the now unprotected Tzalekuhl palace, accompanied by his young disciple, Zea. They seek Nenezi, hoping to harness his portion of the Celestial Seed to locate the missing third piece, which was lost in the city of Mezta. The fate of the realm hangs in the balance as they navigate through treacherous terrain and face formidable challenges, determined to reclaim the lost fragment and restore balance to the world.
