Chatsworth, a remarkable repository of fine and decorative art, has been commissioned by the Cavendish family for over four centuries. The exhibition "Mirror Mirror," which builds upon the 2023 exhibition at Chatsworth, presents the works of sixteen contemporary artists through captivating in-situ photography, accompanied by artist biographies and essays that shed light on how historic artifacts and environments influence and inspire modern artists' practices.

The diverse group of artists featured in the exhibition includes renowned names such as Michael Anastassiades, Ini Archibong, Wendell Castle, Andile Dyalvane, Ndidi Ekubia, Najla El Zein, Formafantasma, Joris Laarman, Max Lamb, Fernando Laposse, Jae Sae Jung Oh, Samuel Ross, Chris Schanck, Ettore Sottsass, Faye Toogood, and Joseph Walsh. Their works span a wide range of mediums, including lithe LED lighting structures that illuminate the halls of the Chatsworth library, as well as a seating sculpture hand-carved in Iranian travertine in the grand estates formal Rose Garden.

These modern works establish unexpected and timeless connections with the houses architecture, interiors, furniture, and ceramics. They challenge the boundaries between art and design, creating a dialogue that sparks curiosity and contemplation.

The exhibition "Mirror Mirror" at Chatsworth House offers a unique opportunity to explore the intersection of history, art, and design, providing a platform for these talented artists to showcase their visionary creations and engage with a broader audience.
