The Gruffalo lets out a roar of pain and swipes at Snake with its sharp claws. Owl, using his powerful wings, flies up to the Gruffalo and pecks it in the eye. Fox, using his quick wit, distracts the Gruffalo while Mouse sneaks up behind it and bites it on the tail.

The Gruffalo is defeated, and the group celebrates their victory. They realize that the growling noise they heard was not the Gruffalo, but a group of animals working together to protect their home. From that day on, the group of animals became known as the Guardians of the Deep Dark Wood, and they continued to protect their home from any threats that may come their way.
