Sometimes, I feel like my body is stubborn, and we don't get along very well. It's like I'm a ghost haunting a spooky hotel. You know, you don't actually live in a hotel; you just pass through.
When Daphne is diagnosed with Premature Ovarian Insufficiency at the age of nineteen, her sister Christine steps in to help in the only way she knows how: by donating her eggs. At first, everything seems to be back in order. But as the years go by and Daphne embarks on the long road of IVF, the sisters' relationship begins to twist and turn.
Pennyroyal is a powerful new play by Lucy Roslyn that explores sisterhood, motherhood, enduring love, and regrets that have been brewing for many years. It is inspired by Edith Wharton's 1922 novella "The Old Maid." The play had its premiere at the Finborough Theatre in London in 2022, directed by Josh Roche.
