Tessa, a young and brilliant barrister, has achieved remarkable success in her career, rising from humble beginnings to the pinnacle of her profession. She has excelled in defending, cross-examining, and securing victories for her clients. However, an unforeseen event forces her to confront the patriarchal power inherent in the legal system, where the burden of proof and morality often diverge.
Prima Facie, an award-winning play by Suzie Miller, delves deep into this complex world, exploring the clash between emotion and integrity and the strict rules governing the legal profession. After successful productions in Australia and receiving the Australian Writers Guild Award for Drama, the play made its European premiere at the Harold Pinter Theatre in London's West End in April 2022. Starring Jodie Comer, the Emmy and Bafta Award-winning star of TV's Killing Eve, the play marked her West End debut.

She faces challenges that test her moral compass and forces her to question the institutions she has worked so hard to uphold. Through her performance, Jodie Comer brings depth and complexity to Tessa's character, showcasing her ability to navigate the treacherous waters of the legal profession while staying true to her values.
The play's themes of power, justice, and morality resonate with audiences worldwide, making it a must-see for anyone interested in exploring the complexities of the legal system and the human spirit.
