REVENGE OF THE BROTHERS: How much does justice weigh?

How much does justice weigh?Samuel Woodward, a mild-mannered African American, sits on death row for the murder of a prominent white bigot and racist. Born into poverty and raised in the harsh Jim Crow South during the 1940s, his case has been dubbed the ‘crime of the century.’ The scales of justice have tipped, and Sam is walking the green mile, awaiting execution. Ginny Sosebee, a white Southern journalist for The Washington Truth, believes Sam is innocent and sets out to prove it. Ginny’s investigation into Sam’s past reveals the emotional toll of years of racial discrimination and abuse inflicted by white supremacists, overseers, politicians, and those filled with spiritual delusions, setting off a series of events, including the deaths of two siblings and the blinding of another, leaving the Woodward family filled with disbelief and bitterness, and a brother bent on revenge. Amid her investigation, Ginny grapples with her own burden: guilt over her brother Hack’s accident and repercussions of family secrets, lies, and unspoken truths. Despite being kidnapped and threatened by those who want to keep Sam imprisoned, Ginny remains resolute. Her pursuit of justice uncovers a web of corruption and cruelty that exposes the true nature of the abuse that shaped Sam’s tragic journey. The facts lay bare ugly truths, giving rise to the reasons behind the dark turns taken by Sam and his family.
