Korso, a skilled and experienced covert salvage operative, has just completed a risky undercover assignment in the United States. His only ally, the enigmatic hacker M. D. Dog, contacts him to inform him that he has been tracked down by Interpols cybercrime unit. Unless Dog betrays a client, the merciless South American crime lord Miguel Quezada, who Interpol believes ordered the Guatemalan Vice Presidents assassination a year before, he faces life imprisonment.
Dog knows that Korso is the only person who can help him. He wants Korso to infiltrate Quezadas heavily-guarded private compound to recover the murder weapon, a Mayan jade dagger, hidden in a safe room somewhere on his property. The dagger is of immense value to Interpol, and Dog believes that if he can get it to them, he will go free. However, failure means the end of them both.
Korso accepts the assignment, knowing that it will be dangerous and challenging. He begins his infiltration by gathering information about Quezadas compound and his security protocols. He uses his skills and resources to gain access to the compound, avoiding detection and overcoming numerous obstacles along the way.
Once inside the compound, Korso faces a series of challenges. He must navigate through a complex network of security systems, evade guards, and avoid detection. He also must confront Quezada himself, who is not only a ruthless crime lord but also a master of manipulation and deception.
Korso must use all of his skills and resources to recover the dagger and escape the compound. He must also confront his own moral dilemmas and questions about loyalty and betrayal. He knows that if he fails, he will not only lose his freedom but also the life of his only ally, M. D. Dog.
In the end, Korso succeeds in his mission. He recovers the dagger and escapes the compound, leaving Quezada defeated and in custody. He returns to Interpol, where he is hailed as a hero. However, he knows that the consequences of his actions will haunt him for the rest of his life.
A suave and sophisticated action thriller with a killer hook, perfect for fans of Lee Child, James Swallow and Adam Hamdy, "The Mayan Jade Dagger" is a thrilling and suspenseful story that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end.
