When Toby and Sally Bunn are transported back in time to 1610 London, they must fend for themselves and learn to stay alive. They reappear in the attic laboratory of Toby's uncle, Professor Arthur C. Sprocket, who believes he has invented an Anti-Gravity machine. However, it is actually a time machine, and it disappears from No. 2 Puddle Street in a shrieking spluff of blue smoke. Toby and Sally are lost and must ask the first person who doesn't look like an axe murderer where they are.
