The Wick and The Flame

A sweeping historical saga set in the years after the Holocaust, following young volunteers who secretly manufacture ammunition beneath a kibbutz during the fight for Israel’s independence. Wartime historical fiction with forbidden love, found family and a touch of spice. A Secret Factory. A Nation Not Yet Born. They were ready to die for a country that didn't yet exist, but none of them expected to fall in love. In the years following the Holocaust, a group of young volunteers gathers on a kibbutz outside Tel Aviv for a clandestine mission. Hidden beneath the quiet farming community, they manufacture bullets for the underground fight to secure a homeland for the Jewish people. Among them are Evie, Albert, Naomi, and Judah. Each arrives with their own past, their own wounds, and their own reasons for joining the cause. Bound together by risk and secrecy, they form an unlikely family as the fight for independence grows more desperate. But war leaves little room for certainty. As bombings, betrayal, and loss press in around them, the choices they make will shape not only their own futures, but the future of a nation. Spanning Paris, Prague, Jerusalem, and Tel Aviv, The Wick and The Flame is a standalone historical saga, for readers who love wartime romance, found family, forbidden love and little-known history. Perfect for fans of Kate Quinn, Pam Jenoff and Heather Morris. Praise for The Wick and the Flame:? ? ? ? ? An inspiring story about love of country, duty, and honour. ? ? ? ? ?
