This workbook has been carefully designed to cater to readers of my previous books, Thinkers Chess Academy Volumes 1 & 2 (TCA1 and TCA2 for short). It aims to provide additional exercises for those who have already mastered the material in these books, as well as challenging material for those who are truly interested and ambitious in improving their chess skills.

The challenge lies in seamlessly combining basic concepts with sophisticated exercises without making them either too boring for advanced readers or too difficult for those still on the TCA1 level. To achieve this, the workbook is structured in a way that allows readers to progress at their own pace.

For those who are still on the lower level, I recommend starting with the chapters titled "Quick Test 1," "Quick Test 2," and so on. After completing Quick Test 10, you can move on to the chapters titled "Advanced Lesson 1," "Advanced Lesson 2," and so on. These chapters offer more detailed explanations and exercises to help you strengthen your chess skills.

Advanced readers, on the other hand, can use each chapter's Quick Test as a kind of warm-up test, setting a time limit of, for example, 10 seconds for each mate in 2. After completing the Quick Test, you can proceed with the subsequent Advanced Lessons chapter.

The most challenging part of the workbook is titled "Master Class." These chapters contain extremely difficult exercises, such as unusually long combinations or checkmates. It is important to note that not every reader is ambitious enough or has enough time to dedicate significant effort to chess. That's perfectly fine! You can still enjoy chess immensely without being a strong tournament player. Simply play through interesting combinations and appreciate the surprising moves and patterns that arise. Don't feel pressured to solve the Advanced Lessons or Master Class exercises. Instead, take your time to familiarize yourself with the positions, and then take a look at the solutions to gain a deeper understanding. Enjoy the process of discovering new chess ideas and combinations, and let your imagination run wild!
