Alexander is having a difficult time deciding on a Halloween costume. He spends hours trying on different outfits but can't seem to find one that he likes. Eventually, he decides to go as a pumpkin, even though he's not entirely happy with his choice.

The next day, Alexander is faced with another difficult decision. He can't decide what to wear to school, and as a result, he misses the bus. He's frustrated and worried about being late for class.

At lunchtime, Alexander is still struggling to make a decision. He's torn between ordering a cheeseburger and a tuna casserole. He tries to weigh the pros and cons of each option, but he can't seem to come to a conclusion.

Finally, Alexander decides to go with the tuna casserole. He takes a bite and realizes that it's not as bad as he thought it would be. He finishes his lunch and feels a sense of relief.

Alexander's breakthrough comes on his birthday. He asks for a sundae with everything on it, including chocolate swirls. At first, he's excited about all the different flavors, but then he realizes that he doesn't actually like chocolate swirls all that much.

After this experience, Alexander starts to develop his own decision-making style. He's not as deliberate as his mother or as quick to decide as his father, but he's somewhere in between. He learns that it's okay to take time to make a decision and that sometimes, you get what you get, and that can be okay too.

When Alexander tells his mom that he wants a baby brother, she initially reacts with surprise. She's worried about the responsibilities that come with having a child. But Alexander is persistent and explains why he wants a brother.

In the end, his mom agrees to let him have a baby brother. She realizes that sometimes, unexpected things can bring joy and happiness into our lives.

Alexander's journey of decision-making teaches him valuable lessons about self-discovery and resilience. He learns that it's okay to be uncertain and that sometimes, the best decisions are the ones that are made with heart and intuition.
