- More about Ubu Royale
Alfred Jarry's riotous play, Ubu Roi, was a sensation upon first staging. This modern adaptation, Roi, directed by Neil Bartlett, brings a modernist classic to a contemporary audience. A bonkers and hilarious new translation, Ubu Royale, was produced during the lockdown fever dream. It features bodily functions and incidents and is gloriously chaotic, but consistency is for losers, as Neil Bartlett says.
