The Test Way, a 71km (44 miles) riverside route between Inkpen Beacon in the North Wessex Downs and Eling Tide Mill near Southampton Water, offers an 8-day gentle walk or a shorter 2-3 day overall journey. Along with the main route, 15 circular day walks explore the chalk downs and rolling countryside in and around the Test Valley.
The Test Way is divided into 8 stages, each ranging from 5 to 14km (3 to 9 miles) in length. These stages can be completed in a day or combined into a shorter 2-3 day journey. The day walks range from 6 to 14km (4 to 9 miles) and are designed for walkers of all abilities, taking between 2 and 4 hours to complete.
To enhance your walking experience, 1:50,000 OS maps are included for each walk, along with GPX files that can be downloaded for navigation. Refreshment and public transport options are provided for each walk, making it easy to access the route from Newbury, Basingstoke, Winchester, and Southampton.
