  • More about Wide-Range Antennas

This book discusses the development of new theoretical methods for analyzing and synthesizing antennas, which propose concentrated capacitive loads connected along linear and V-antennas to improve matching with a cable and directional characteristics. It also discusses multi-element self-complementary antennas with different variants of connecting generator poles and cable wires, as well as transparent antennas, antennas for cellular communication, and multi-tier and multi-radiator antennas.

The primary goal of this book is to broaden the frequency range of antennas. The proposed solutions are based on the development of novel theoretical approaches for analyzing and synthesizing antennas. The book demonstrates that concentrated capacitive loads connected along linear and V-antennas exhibit excellent matching with a cable across a wide frequency range, thereby enhancing the directional characteristics of antennas, such as increasing communication distance.

New theoretical methods are proposed for the analysis and synthesis of antennas, including:

1. Method of calculating directional characteristics of radiators with a given current distribution.
2. Method of electrostatic analogy for calculating mutual and total fields of complex multi-element radiating structures.

These methods enable us to obtain optimal directional characteristics for director-type antennas (arrays of Yagi-Uda) and log-periodic antennas with concentrated capacitances. They also show that the use of capacitors allows for extending the frequency range of director antennas and reducing the dimensions of log-periodic antennas.

Multi-element (flat and three-dimensional) self-complementary antennas with various variants of connecting generator poles and cable wires to antenna elements are proposed, which improves the matching with a cable. The characteristics of flat structures are compared with those of volume structures, such as conical, parabolic, and located on pyramid edges.

The book also describes new versions of transparent antennas, antennas for cellular communication, multi-tier and multi-radiator antennas, and many other innovative antenna designs.
